The University of Wisconsin-Madison Arts Institute announces the 19th annual Madison Early Music Festival Workshop and Concert Series, A Cabinet of Curiosities: Journey to Lübeck from July 7-14, 2018. We will explore Renaissance and baroque music from Northern Germany, including Italian and German sacred works from the 16th and 17th centuries that were recently discovered in the Choir Library at the Marienkirche (St. Mary’s Church) in Lübeck.
Workshop classes occupy five days of the Festival, with offerings ranging from beginner-level instruction to advanced master classes and consorts.
The Festival Concert Series consists of 6 concerts and includes performances by ensembles-in-residence, as well as a Participant Concert and All-Festival Concert.
